Pining for Spring

We bought a variety of flowers in the Cities when we were there on Saturday. The flower pots are from Menards--nicer that what we usually expect to find there. The vase holds calla lilies.

This wheat grass is interesting. You can see the roots, the soil, and the water. We are going to have to "mow" it at some point. This is the only green grass we will likely see for a while.

Double Whammy

We had two major storms this week after a winter with very little snow. We stood in the driveway basking in 60 degree heat on Saturday talking with our neighbor, Pete, who told us that because of the warm spring weather, he would probably be mowing on Monday.

On Sunday night, our backyard was bare. Today, as you can see in the picture below, the snow is at about eight inches and rising. Deanna has had two snow days this week--Monday and today (Thursday)--an unheard of streak of snow-day luck! Rich has been off for "spring break" (aka, snow break) this week.

Still piling up.
